The other night I was at a get together of The Start Up Club Adelaide and to quote from their facebook page.
"The Startup Club Adelaide is a group of 400 highly motivated entrepreneurs, technologists and future thinking professionals. We meet face to face once a fortnight to discuss small business strategy, creative marketing, investing and general success over lunch and a beer."
At the meeting we met a 21 year old " Life Coach " who appeared to be " rolling with his entourage ".
Now I am all for people making a career choice but a "21 year old Life Coach".
Business and Life coaches should be judged on whether they have some sort of experience in their chosen field as you can only learn so much out of a book.
Life coaches come in all shapes and ages. I would avoid judging his age because there is no way to know the life he may have lived so far. There are teenagers who have more life experience and who have come through greater adversities then some eighty-year-olds.
You'll also find, that fellow 20-somethings will get along with a peer life coach. If he can offer direction, guidance, and motivation to the younger generations he could prove to be an exceptional life coach.
When it comes to choosing your own life coach you do have to choose carefully. But age is only a consideration if you're the kind of person who couldn't take him seriously or believe his advice because of it. You've got to find a life coach you click with.

I was able to attend 2 Startup Club Adelaide meetups (March 2009) since it started. I guess it is kinda a shotgun approach as you'll never really know the kind of people you'll get to meet.
