Noticed the G8 summit is complianing about global warming and poverty.
Lets have a look at that statement in relation to the Garnaut report.
We all have to do something about climate change but in case anyone hasn't told Professor Garnaut and our Prime Minister Kevin Rudd it is hard out there at the moment.
Money is tight , prices are going up.
Putting the price of petrol up by up to 12c and the price of electricity so that we put pressure on other countries to do something about climate change is just criminal.
I personally think the carbon credit idea of if I fly a plane to Melbourne I need to give an organization money to plant a tree outside of Broken Hill or in the back blocks of the wilds of Western Australia is ludicrous.
I would like to be running the organization that is doing this because i think it will have a touch of the Al Gore's , speaking one thing but doing another.
The Garnaut report says that money should be returned to the people from this global warming tax.
Lets be honest , if the government implements the report , it may rake in an additional 12 billion dollars and now thinks wow this is great , we should give something back to the people.!!!
With the price of oil going up and the escalating cost of living , then the implementation of the report ,
we will all be broke , living in covered wagons and hunting for our food if that happens.
This new tax and it is a tax is supposed to go somewhere towards fixing global warming here and in other countries .
Putting their cost of living up might go somewhere to fixing the problem.
By the way I do believe in helping the environment , I just think it is the popular thing at the moment to jump on the global warming bandwagon and anyone who speaks against this is viewed as a pariah.
We can only survive so much and in probably the highest tax country in the world we need the cost of living to come down not continue to rise.
